  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or in progress
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Experience with ADP payroll software
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be available to commute to the office bi-weekly

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time /Casual Accountant to support their day-to-day accounting operations. This hybrid role requires candidates to be located in Montreal, with the ability to commute to the office every other week. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, exceptional accuracy, and experience using accounting software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using accounting software
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and processing payments
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports and documentation
  • Support basic payroll functions and assist with expense tracking using ADP
  • Coordinate with accountants during month-end and year-end closing
  • Ensure all financial records are kept up-to-date and compliant with internal policies
  • Manage the receipt, recording, and organization of invoices, purchase orders, and payment receipts
