MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native American preference
  • Must have at least a four (4) year Degree in Accounting or Finance, with related experience.
  • Must have knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.
  • Must be able to manage people effectively.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Requires basic to intermediate level computer skills and ability to access information in meaningful ways.
  • Requires effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Needs commitment to timeliness and attention to detail for acceptable customer service.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: The accountant is responsible for the production of all financial statements for businesses under the St Croix umbrella. The Accountant is also responsible for all activities which affect the general ledgers of all businesses under this umbrella. This position requires timely completion of State and Federal documents including sales tax and 1099 MISC reporting for vendor incomes.
Accountant Job Duties: The accountant implements, conducts, and adheres to all Accounting Policies and Procedures as set forth by the Chief Financial Officer of the St Croix Chippewa, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This individual must assist with training all employees in this department and review all the entries that affect the General Ledger. This is to include:

Set up of all financial and bank accounts for business involved

  • Adjusting entries
  • Bank transfer entries
  • Cash deposit entries
  • Daily revenue entries
  • End of month entries
  • Payroll entries
  • Any other duties as directed by the CFO

The accountant must also set policy and procedures or data entry and review
Entries into all accounting software programs to assure coding is correct and that proper signatures accompany invoices.
