Summary: We are seeking an experienced accountant specializing in the insurance industry to manage and oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific financial practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance within company standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including premium accounting and expense deductions.
  • Post monthly financials to corporate accounting database
  • Assist with managing our captive insurance management’s reporting and accounting needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement financial strategies and policies.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders as needed.
