*THIS IS A REMOTE FULL-TIME POSITION – CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN ONTARIO*

Busy, rapidly growing, Financial Consulting/Accounting firm in Alliston is looking for a Team Lead/Accountant to start immediately.
Applicant must reside in Ontario, but preference will be given to candidates who live in the Alliston/Barrie area.
Pay Rate: $60K-85K dependent upon experience.
Hours: 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of clients and supervising bookkeepers (bookkeeping to Trial Balance).
* Accounting, Bookkeeping, Month/Quarter Ends.
* Year End Adjustments and Year End Working Papers including basic Tax Planning.
* Government Compliance Filings (WSIB, HST, Source Deductions, Union Dues, etc.)
* Create, format, edit, update and finalize standard and non-standard templates, letters, reports, correspondence and spreadsheets.
* Draft and Research Policy.
* Consulting with CPA’s and other third-party professionals.
* Consulting with Clients.
* Audit and Trust Examination Preparation and Representation.
* Cost Accounting and Budgeting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong accounting skills. A relevant degree or diploma/certification (or working towards a degree, designation or diploma/certification).
  • 5+ years of experience preparing and analysing financial statements and year end working papers. Ability to reconcile clearing and intercompany accounts.
  • Experience working with SAGE50 and/or QuickBooks (Desktop/Online).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and manage staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Strong typing skills
  • Strong math, analytical and problem-solving abilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with a CPA firm and basic tax-planning
  • Bilingual – English/French
  • Trust accounting knowledge and experience
