Job Description
Become an integral part of our finance team as an Accountant and contribute to our company’s success. You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will work in collaboration with the finance team to support various accounting functions and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation is required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (French and English / reason: bilingual clients)
  • This is a temporary replacement (12 - 16 months) with the possibility of becoming permanent, upon the return of the incumbent, depending on the organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Review and reconcile accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting and financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist with external audits
  • Participate in the preparation of the Canadian and US tax returns
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
