We are now seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Accountant to join our growing team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, VAT returns, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple group companies and prioritise effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Accountant will take responsibility for the full financial cycle across Tempstay and its sister companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proactive financial management. This is a hands-on role covering bookkeeping, tax, and financial planning, as well as contributing to strategic decision-making by advising on cost-saving opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records for Tempstay and associated group companies.
  • Prepare and issue invoices; oversee accounts receivable and payable.
  • Process and schedule payments to suppliers, contractors, and landlords.
  • Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and financial records.
  • Prepare director tax returns and assist with other statutory filings.
  • Produce regular financial reports including cash flow forecasts, budgets, and management accounts.
  • Work with senior leadership on financial planning and forecasting.
  • Advise on and implement cost-saving measures across the group.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC when required.
  • Support the wider team with financial queries and provide guidance where necessary.
