JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting practices, including corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and governmental accounting. This role requires proficiency in financial software and a solid understanding of GAAP principles, as well as the ability to mentor junior staff. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in corporate finance, public accounting, or non-profit accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting issues related to wills, trusts & estate law or private equity is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work outputs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Perform journal entries and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
  • Conduct financial report writing and interpretation for management review.
  • Oversee budgeting processes and cash flow analysis to support financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant securities laws.
  • Assist with tax preparation and regulatory reporting as required.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
  • Provide mentorship to junior accountants and support their professional development.
  • Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to internal controls.
