WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field, preferably towards completion of the CPA qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar commercial accounting role, preferably within the FMCG or retail industry
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelling)
  • Experience with MYOB, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics or similar accounting software systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Must have permanent right to work in Australia

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Alexandria NSW. This full-time position will see you play a key role in the Finance department for the Australian and New Zealand regional operations, contributing to the overall financial success of our fast-growing business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, cash, accounts receivable, prepayment, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, lease, employee expense claims etc.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate stock receipt and import duty record and assist in the relevant reporting requirements
  • Assist in the interim and year -end financial audit ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly BAS return, annual FBT return, and corporate income tax return ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations
  • Assist in the preparation of sales and gross profit reconciliations to provide valuable insights and analysis
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities including GL reconciliations and financial reports etc.
  • Assist in various business reporting requirements
  • Support the implementation of new ERP system and POS system and improve finance processes to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial information and seek advice
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and special assignments as required
