Under the close supervision of the Administrator I, as a learner, the Accountant Trainee performs professional accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and financial records. Typical duties include the preparation, review and analysis of financial reports and statements; reconciling funds and accounts; and researching and resolving account discrepancies while working with the State Controller’s Office and various departmental staff.
Separation of Duties: The duties of this position include responsibilities covered by the State Administrative Manual (SAM) Section 7280. To ensure proper separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (domestic partners, children, husband, wife, brother, sister, or individuals living in the same household) works in the Accounting Section.
