GENERAL SUMMARY

Detail oriented individual that performs accounting and clerical tasks on a daily basis and provides general support to the Controller and/or President/CEO. Plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, supporting the Credit Union and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Has a passion for supporting the financial well-being of our members.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • Knowledge of account reconciliation and accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - with an emphasis in Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in all phases of the job
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners
  • Accounting experience in a credit union, banking or financial services environment, is preferred
  • Knowledge of financial institution and regulatory requirements is a plus
    This position reports onsite at our Cranberry location with the potential to move to a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for management
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls and Credit Union policies and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and support.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans with strategic goals.
  • Prepare tax filings, including IRS 945A and other relevant financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and update accounting records in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines and industry best practices
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on the Credit Union’s investments, loans and other financial products
  • Continuously improve financial reporting processes and recommend enhancements to systems and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
