Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our finance team. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: At least 1 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Altona, VIC 301

Responsibilities
  • Financial Record keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • General Ledger Management: Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure the accuracy of financial data in the general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns (income, sales, VAT, etc.) and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing support in analyzing variances between actual and projections.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Payroll Processing: If applicable, assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and taxes.
