YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum two years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or property development industry
- Advanced Excel skills, and proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Familiarity with platforms such as Deputy, Square POS, Bepoz, Orderbuddy, Cin7, Ordermentum, Cooking the Books, and Unleash is highly desirable
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and work independently
- Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and prioritization abilities
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
In this role, you will leverage your accounting expertise across various tasks, from preparing journal entries to managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset maintenance. You will also handle the month end closing process which involves general ledger reconciliations, management reports, financial statements, and cash flow projections. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer or Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for key aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close, and your input will be vital in the development and implementation of accounting policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and record financial transactions and journal entries
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
- Produce management reports, financial statements, and cash flow projections
- Business activity statement reconciliations and lodgement
- Maintain fixed assets and oversee general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with the implementation of accounting policies and internal controls
