Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our client’s team in Guelph, Ontario. In this role, you will manage accounts receivable functions, including cash applications, deduction analysis, and payment collections. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately process customer payments and returns, ensuring timely cash application in the financial system.
  • Review, analyze, and process customer deductions and claims, utilizing systems to track and manage deductions effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to resolve invalid deductions and secure repayment or supporting documentation.
  • Conduct follow-ups on overdue accounts and initiate collection calls to recover outstanding payments.
  • Generate credit hold reports and take appropriate actions to address delinquent accounts.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of customer accounts and financial transactions.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Prepare detailed reports on deduction trends, penalties, and aging metrics for management review.
  • Participate in system-related projects, including testing and validating data for new financial systems.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks such as data entry, filing, and supporting team operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in managing account reconciliations and cash applications.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and resolving discrepancies in accounts.
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in commercial collections and effectively handling overdue accounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
