JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid grasp of financial concepts to support various accounting functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or similar
  • Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and accrual accounting principles, Microsoft office skills, particularly excel, pivot tables, VLOOKUP and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with financial management concepts including cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with non-profit accounting or corporate finance is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Process, review and verify vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and accurate account coding.
  • Manage payment processes, including issuing payments via checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
  • Maintain vendor records and resolve payment discrepancies or disputes.
  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of customer invoices and credit memos.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of AP and AR accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring proper filing and compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and support external audits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.
  • Work directly with the CFO / Controller to support daily financial operations.
  • Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide financial data and support for ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.
  • Support internal financial reviews and management reporting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support the CFO in analyzing budget variances and financial projections.
  • Gather and compile financial data to support strategic planning.
  • Perform other duties assigned by reporting manager.
