Job Responsibilities The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Accounting Analyst in the Finance and Business Department.  This position is responsible for assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, chart of accounts maintenance, general accounting, and other financial services.  In addition this role will assist with the following: * Assist in financial reporting processes, including supporting external audits by compiling necessary documentation. Additionally, assist in the preparation of non-audit financial reports, including but not limited to tax filings, grant reporting, NCAA financial reports, and various state and federal compliance reports. * Collaborate with the Director of Accounting to develop and refine policies, procedures, and internal controls for the Finance & Business Office. *  Support training initiatives for accounting staff and other departments. * Manage journal entries, resolve account discrepancies, and ensure accurate data entry into Banner Finance. * Assist in monitoring fund transfers and reconciliations between systems. Support with monthly, quarterly, and annual close. * Assist in managing chart of accounts, including creating, updating, and maintaining funds, organizations, and accounts. * Ensure approvals and proper communication of changes. Enforces compliance and ensures consistency with federal and state regulations, college policies and procedures.   Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field may be considered with relevant accounting experience. Knowledge of the accounting practices, principles, and terminology. Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and to analyze and interpret related data.
