We don’t want you to live to work, we want you to work and live.   What you can expect as a Accounting Analyst at West Star: The MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data related to fixed assets and prepaid expenses. This role ensures accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with GAAP and internal policies, supports audits, and contributes to financial planning and analysis.     You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including: * Fixed Assets: * Maintain and operate the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accurate tracking of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. * Provide CAR Reference Numbers at request from procurement. * Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger with the general ledger monthly. * Perform periodic reviews of fixed assets in process and expected spending. * Support audits by preparing detailed fixed asset schedules and documentation. * Monitor capital expenditures against budget and ensure proper capitalization. Prepaids: * Prepare and book monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses and accruals. * Reconcile prepaid accounts and investigate discrepancies. * Monitor amortization schedules and ensure timely expense recognition. * Collaborate with departments to validate prepaid balances and forecast future expenses. General Accounting & Reporting: * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to fixed assets and prepaids. * Support budgeting and forecasting processes for capital and prepaid expenditures. * Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.  Qualifications What you’ll need to bring with you:   Your Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.   Your Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience required. Strong understanding of GAAP and asset lifecycle management. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.     Your Initiative: We’re looking for a team player who is self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.    Other Particulars:   Your Sense of Responsibility: Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day. Perform all work in accordance with all regulatory guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.     Physical Requirements Lift and carry 15 pounds. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.   Mental Requirements: Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
