RSM’s BPO practice is seeking a Director to help build and lead our growing outsourcing business. This role will focus on selling, designing, and delivering end-to-end finance and accounting managed services, including core processes such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report. The BPO Director will serve as the face of engagements, partnering closely with clients’ senior leadership (CFO, Controller, VP Finance, etc.) to design solutions, transition operations, and deliver long-term value. You will also play a critical role in solutioning and responding to RFPs, building collateral, shaping deal economics, and overseeing contracting, independence checks, and technical architecture for large BPO deals. This is a leadership role within RSM’s outsourcing practice, requiring strong business development skills, operational expertise, and the ability to deliver scalable, tech-enabled client solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA or equivalent credential preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in BPO, managed services, consulting, or finance operations.
  • Demonstrated success in selling and closing outsourcing/managed services deals.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) and technology-enabled delivery models.
  • Experience with solutioning, deal economics, proposal writing, and client contracting.
  • Proven leadership in managing transitions and steady-state operations for large outsourcing clients.
  • Strong communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting systems (NetSuite, Intacct, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Bill.com, etc.) and enabling technologies (AI, OCR, RPA, workflow tools).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while driving results and client value.

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
    Compensation Range: $126,500 - $254,700
    Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance

Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Solutioning
  • Lead the sales cycle for BPO opportunities, including client prospecting, solution design, proposal/RFP responses, and client presentations.
  • Serve as the technical architect on large BPO deals, defining delivery models, leveraging technology, and ensuring scalable solutions.
  • Build and maintain collateral, playbooks, and repeatable methodologies to support sales and delivery.
  • Work with the Catamaran team on deal economics, pricing models, and margin optimization.
  • Client Engagement & Delivery
  • Act as the face of BPO engagements: oversee transitions, lead governance meetings, and serve as the point of escalation for clients.
  • Direct end-to-end service delivery across P2P, O2C, R2R, and other core finance processes.
  • Ensure operational excellence, SLA adherence, and client satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Partner with internal technology and consulting teams to deploy cloud-based solutions, AI, OCR, RPA, and other emerging tools to enhance delivery.
  • Engagement Leadership & Risk Management
  • Lead contract negotiations, independence reviews, and engagement risk management in alignment with firm protocols.
  • Provide strategic oversight of transitions, onboarding, and steady-state operations for new BPO clients.
  • Establish engagement budgets, monitor performance, and drive profitability of BPO engagements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives, delivering insights that go beyond reporting to support business decisions.
  • People Leadership
  • Manage, coach, and mentor cross-functional teams across geographies, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Drive collaboration across solution sets, ensuring BPO engagements leverage the firm’s broader capabilities.
