The building was recently transformed into a 286-room luxury hotel with 16,000-sq-ft of stunning event spaces, signature dining experiences and a reimagined front entrance on Newbury Street. Overview Ready to dive headfirst into the dynamic world of Accounting and Finance? Highgate is seeking bright, driven interns currently in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study to join our exclusive 10-week summer internship program. This immersive, rotational internship provides a 360° view of hotel finance operations, exposing you to property-level functions. You’ll work alongside seasoned finance professionals to gain hands-on experience in the key areas that keep our portfolio thriving. Responsibilities Work alongside the Accounting and Finance Team Assist the property finance team with daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting. Gain exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis at the property level. Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and internal control procedures. Observe how finance partners with operations to drive profitability. Use hotel accounting systems (such as PeopleSoft, Birchstreet, or PMS systems) under supervision. Shadow property finance leaders and attend professional development sessions as part of Highgate’s internship curriculum. Participate in month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month end financial statements Assist with various projects as needed Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information Qualifications Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree Minimum Junior status only. Senior are also welcome to apply Knowledge of Accounting and/or Finance principals is required. Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time-efficient manner Ability to participate in a 10-week program (June - August) The position requires to work onsite at a hotel in Boston
