Role Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Accounting and FP&A Associate to join our growing finance team. This role will report directly to Finance leaders and sits at the intersection of payroll, accounting, and FP&A, ensuring accuracy in payroll and commission processing, reviewing accounting records for variances and errors, and strengthening our internal processes through standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate is skilled in Excel, comfortable working cross-functionally, and eager to support both day-to-day execution and higher-level financial review.
Duties and Responsibilities

Payroll & Commissions

  • Process biweekly/monthly payroll and employee commissions accurately and on time.
  • Review payroll and commission calculations for accuracy, including reconciliation against supporting data.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies related to payroll, hours, or incentive pay.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations to ensure proper documentation and compliance.

Accounting Review & Variance Checking

  • Perform monthly/quarterly review of accounting records and financial statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods to identify trends, discrepancies, and errors.
  • Partner with the accounting team to investigate and resolve errors in financial postings or entries.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes as needed.

Process & SOP Improvement

  • Review and document existing SOPs across payroll, finance, and FP&A.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
  • Ensure SOPs are consistently applied and updated as business needs evolve.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or payroll; exposure to FP&A preferred
  • Big 4 or equivalent experience is a plus

Skills / Abilities

  • Strong technical skills, Advanced user of Excel, experience NetSuite a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a focus on results.
  • Highly organized, with track record of successfully managing multiple work streams and optimizing processes
