Job Description The Accounting and Tax Director is a key leadership role at ib vogt, responsible for safeguarding the company’s financial integrity while driving operational excellence across group accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and global tax. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will lead a dynamic, globally distributed team and ensure the highest standards of accounting, tax, and reporting accuracy across the organization. The role is based in Berlin in hybrid working model. Oversee the integrity of all financial accounting, reporting, and compliance with international financial standards (incl. IFRS and local GAAP), including all financial administration tasks and consolidation of group entities Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end internal and external close and reporting processes in collaboration with local operating accounting teams Manage external audits and maintain relationship with external auditor(s) Provide strategic insights through financial reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making and work closely with senior management and the shareholders to align goals Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards Own the global tax agenda ensuring compliant, on-time filings and payments in all relevant jurisdictions Develop and maintain a robust tax control framework (tax governance, policies, documentation standards, sign-off routines) aligned with internal controls and audit requirements Drive digitalization and automation initiatives across accounting and tax functions, including the implementation of modern ERP systems, tax technology solutions, and data-driven reporting tools to increase efficiency, transparency, and scalability Lead change management initiatives within finance and tax, ensuring successful adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working through clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and capability building Continuously evaluate and improve bookkeeping, accounting and tax processes, leveraging digital solutions to reduce manual effort, mitigate risks, and enhance data quality and compliance. Lead and develop a high-performing team of finance and tax professionals, promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement Introduce automation and digitalization initiatives to streamline financial operation workflows, reduce manual effort and enhance reporting accuracy Partner closely with the treasury, corporate finance, tax, sales, investment management, legal, and other business units to ensure alignment on financial strategy and decision-making Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA/Tax Advisor (StB) or equivalent certification preferred 15+ years progressive experience, including 5+ years leading accounting and tax teams in a multi-entity, international environment; ideally within the renewable energy sector Strong track record managing finance and tax operations in globally distributed organizations including deep expertise in group accounting and reporting (e.g., IFRS and relevant local GAAP/statutory), including close governance and audit coordination Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance and governance across multiple jurisdictions; ability to translate complex tax topics into clear business decisions Proven ability in driving process standardization and operational efficiency, ideally leveraging ERP/consolidation systems and automation Mature people leader, who builds high-performing teams, develops talent, and fosters a culture of ownership and continuous improvement Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders Fluency in English and German is essential Additional Information At ib vogt, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace where everyone can thrive.
