Description Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25 food locations. The Accounting Area Manager is a professional position responsible for supporting the accounting team and cash office functions. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Area Manager will take an active role in training seasonal cashiers and performing daily cash office operations. This is a part to full time position, with hours needed starting May through December. Some nights and weekends will be required during the late summer and fall season. Responsibilities: Input items pricing for all departments and ensure accuracy on POS devices Audit and reconcile POS data as assigned Cash handling responsibilities to include delivery and counting of cash bags Serves as a point of contact for seasonal cashiers, ensuring proper procedures are followed Support training of seasonal cashiers Supervise seasonal personnel working in the cash office Respond to radio calls for assistance with Ipads and printers if Food or Retail Team Leaders cannot address the issues Requirements Experience with basic accounting Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality Maintain clear verbal and written communication. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to use various forms of technology (laptop, tablet, cellphone). Basic computer skills, along with ability to learn new computer systems utilized on the farm. Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
