QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
  • Experience in data entry and database management
  • Familiarity with accounting terminology
  • Experience within the agriculture industry is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Process and maintain accounts payable records, including coding and entering invoices
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting system
  • Assist with managing cash and disbursements
  • Assist with bank deposits and cash receipt processing
  • Perform bank and GL account reconciliations and help identify discrepancies
  • File and maintain accounting documents, reports, and records in an organized system
  • Support month-end closing activities by gathering and organizing financial information
  • Help prepare routine financial reports and spreadsheets including HST and WSIB
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
