ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Location – Kansas City

Role Description
The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting team by performing essential bookkeeping tasks, reconciling invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records to ensure smooth financial operations.

You are a team player with strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset. You will be a part of a creative, diverse, collaborative team of hardworking individuals to increase brand favorability, customer engagement and advocacy, and revenue growth.

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing accounts payable
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Process AP invoices and payment
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND IMPACT

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude when adjusting to shifting priorities, while maintaining composure in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but works with other team members inside and outside of the department.
