Job Details Job Location: Gordon Memorial Hospital - Gordon, NE 69343 POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for making monthly journal entries in the general ledger to reflect accurate and timely expense allocations for the various GMHS departments. The Accounting Assistant will also be responsible for various account reconciliations. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES Reconciles and enters payroll journal entries into accounting software. Balances various accounts to general ledger and identifies any discrepancies. Reconciles various bank accounts on a daily and monthly basis. Furnish monthly department budgets to managers in a timely manner. Assists CFO with manual general ledger entries. Generates reports as required and needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma or equivalent required College level accounting classes or accounting degree preferred Experience: Previous experience with computers required. Two years of experience in accounts payable preferred. Two years of accounting experience preferred. Licensure and Certification: None required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Basic accounting principles Mathematical concepts Skills in: Microsoft Excel Automated accounting systems and spreadsheets Ability to: Sort, check, count, and verify numbers Read and break down invoices Read and analyze bank statements Reconcile and balance various accounts Receive sensitive information and maintain confidentiality Multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently Communicate effectively Be an energetic self-starter and work independently Anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
Responsibilities
