Description

Harris, Sheaffer LLP is a boutique Toronto-based law firm who represents a broad range of local, national and international clients in the real estate sector. We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support one of our team with a high volume of daily administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PCLaw or similar systems)
  • Able to process a high volume of work while maintaining extreme accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
Responsibilities
  • Process high volume of incoming and outgoing trust fund transactions with accuracy and efficiency
  • Reconcile daily bank transactions and client trust accounts
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and perform filing duties related to responsibilities
  • Assist with processing and recording accounts payable and expense reports
  • Provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager and team as needed
  • Maintain and support internal accounting controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance
