JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established financial standards. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and corporate accounting practices.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UltiPro) is preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, credit analysis, and account analysis.
• Knowledge of both corporate and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
• Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry tasks.
• Ability to perform double entry bookkeeping and maintain general ledger reconciliation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with technical accounting principles is desirable.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform data entry tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
• Support payroll management processes using software such as ADP, Paychex, or Kronos.
• Maintain accurate records of journal entries, debits, and credits.
• Collaborate with team members on budgeting and account analysis tasks.
• Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage for bookkeeping activities.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations during financial reporting processes.
• Provide assistance in tax preparation and governmental accounting as needed.
• Participate in account reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy of financial data.
