JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant and Administrative Assistant to manage financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and provide essential administrative support for a small plastics company. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) and management reports.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform weekly bank reconciliations, verifying deposits and addressing inquiries.
  • Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate employee payments and tax withholdings.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Cost Accounting: Complete manufacturing variance analysis and dissect financial data for costing purposes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for streamlining financial processes and improving efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (e.g., finance) preferred but can be replaces with requisite levels of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting or administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
