Overview
A respected and well-established Chartered Accountancy firm in Eastbourne is seeking a talented Accounts Technician to join their friendly and professional team. Known for their supportive working environment and commitment to staff development, this firm offers a fantastic opportunity to progress your career!
You will be responsible for preparing year-end accounts and tax returns for a broad range of clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy at all times. The role is office-based whilst you settle in, before moving to a hybrid structure after probation.
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

  • Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Complete personal and corporation tax returns, ensuring timely submission
  • Assist with VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks as required
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
  • Maintain compliance with current accounting standards and legislation
  • Support more junior members of the team when required
  • Communicate with HMRC regarding client matters
  • Work closely with managers and partners on ad-hoc assignments

What we’re looking for
A successful candidate for this role will have a few years prior UK accountancy practice experience, ideally AAT qualified (not essential), and be confident handling the duties listed above. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
