Description
Basic Function HF Sinclair is seeking an Accounting Associate based in Artesia, NM.  In this role, you will be responsible for routine bookkeeping and accounting related clerical work and fiscal record keeping. Under moderate supervision, ensures all accounting assignments are completed including paying accounts and posting all invoices to provide accurate management reports. Job Duties Prepares various accounting statements and reports Prepares, updates, and maintains files daily/monthly Processes end of month journal entries Processes invoices for payment and may communicate with vendors concerning invoice issues     May perform some or all of the following duties: Reconciles inventory between terminals and accounting Measures volumes and track actual vs. budgeted volumes by site Prepares diesel and jet fuel entries Tracks and enters all branding master file additions, changes, de-branding Reconciles exchange between companies Sets up new carriers for the HEP Terminals, supporting the TopHat system and provides backup for the TopHat Coordinator Provides support and clerical help for submitting requisitions in the DataStream system Provides clerical support and relieves other area staff as needed Maintains project and general files for the administrative area   Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretionExperience A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in an office setting is required. Education Level A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.   Preferred Educational Level Associates Degree or higher is preferred. Required Skills Ability to perform routine accounting analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft products, accounting and maintenance software, and accounting practices and procedures. Familiarity with the operation of general office equipment such as ten key calculators, fax and copy machines. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, and intermediate reading and writing skills.   Preferred Skills Some knowledge of revenue accounting is preferred. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility None. Work Conditions Office based.
