Description:

Inovia Capital is searching for a dynamic and motivated Accounting Associate to join our Corporate Operations team in Montreal; someone who is ready to get involved in performing day-to-day corporate accounting. This team member will work closely with a small team, reporting to the Controller, in a collaborative environment with evolving duties in order to meet team deadlines and goals.

CORE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competence in the following technical areas:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards
  • Ability to understand legal documents and multi-entity corporate structures are an asset
  • Bilingual (French/English)

EXPERIENCE

  • We are looking for a candidate with experience in the following areas:
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Accounting
  • Experience using Netsuite is an asset
  • Familiarity with Venture Capital and/or Private Equity is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with various online business banking platforms and electronic payments
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert in Corporate Accounting and related accounting system
  • Prepare recurring, non-recurring and closing journal entries and reconciliations, including inter-company transactions and multi-currency transactions
  • Update accounting records for the receivable and payable cycles and coordinate with treasury
  • Prepare and process GST/QST/HST/VAT filing
  • Support annual tax filing process
  • Prepare timely and accurate Corporate financial statements and documentation
