Description

DESCRIPTION:

You will be responsible for business accounting and bookkeeping of an electric contracting crew engaged in industrial, commercial & agricultural construction projects within southern Ontario.
Industry sectors - Construction and Maintenance services.
8-16 hours per week dependant on workload.
$27.00 - $35.00 per hour depending upon prior training and work experience.
Receiving applications for an upcoming vacancy.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be fluent in English.
Secondary school diploma.
College diploma in business accounting bookkeeping.
Previous work experience in service industry and construction bookkeeping.
Previous training and work experience with Sage accounting software preferred but will train.
Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, databases, scheduling software.
Work must be completed in person at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Own transportation required.

Strong written and verbal communication with customer service skills. Accurate, Dependable, Good judgement, Organized with efficient time management, Adaptable to changes.

Responsibilities

Reconcile employees’ timesheets.
Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
Reconcile projects’ time and materials.
Prepare customer invoicing.
Data entry of accounts’ receivables transactions.
Data entry of suppliers’ invoicing.
Data entry of accounts’ payables transactions.
Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
Post journal entries
Reconcile accounts
Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
Work conditions - Attention to detail, Repetitive tasks, Sitting, Computer interaction, Occasional answering of telephone and directing calls. Responding to and initiating email correspondence. Provide exceptional customer service. Work unsupervised at times.
