Description

We are hiring for someone to train with and eventually replace our full-time Accounting Clerk. Hours for this position will initially vary from 20-30 hours a week while training and will increase to full-time once taking over as the full-time Accounting Clerk. The rate of pay will not change in the full-time position, however, you will then become eligible to receive group health benefits subject to the benefit waiting period.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the performance of a variety of accounting duties, including accounts receivable, unionized payroll processing, customer service, related clerical duties and the maintenance of accurate records as they relate to these duties. This role requires proficiency in accounting, excellent computer skills and a keen attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Degree/Diploma in Business or Accounting
  • A minimum of 3-years’ experience in an Accounting office handling Accounts Receivable/Payroll
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll
  • Exceptional oral, written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills,
  • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and maintain composure
  • Jonas computerized office program experience would be an asset
