Benchmark Properties Group is a well-established owner and manager of commercial office space and industrial properties in the communities of Langley and Surrey. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Accounting Clerk, you will be reporting to the Property Management Accountant, and you will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical duties to support the office team. You will handle invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and other administrative functions related to accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts receivable and collections
  • Communicate with tenants regarding account balances and discrepancies
  • Deposit of cheques, cash and pre-authorized debits
  • Monthly invoicing to tenants
  • Inter-company invoicing & recurring journal entries
  • Monthly journal entries and accruals
  • Process invoices and payments in a timely manner
  • Entry of Visa statements
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
  • Ensure proper filing of accounting documents and records
  • Bank reconciliations
  • GST reconciliations and filings
  • Maintain Capital Assets amortization schedule & binder
  • Maintain Tenant Inducement/Free Rent amortization schedule
  • Yearend reports and reconciliations
  • Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • You have completed some post-secondary accounting courses, supplemented with accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel (pivot/vlookup preferred), Word, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadlines
