Description

Purpose: The Accounting Clerk will efficiently manage the accounts payable process through timely and accurate payment processing of invoices as well as reconciling daily sales and managing deposits.
Reporting to: Accounting Office Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Bookkeeping courses, a plus
  • Licenses/Certifications: n/a
  • Experience:
  • Entry level to intermediate experience with MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Prior experience working in a retail environment
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferred
  • Knowledge/skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with accurate data entry and data review
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work collaboratively within Accounting department and other departments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to adapt with a willingness to learn and execute accounting principles and industry best practices
  • Other:
  • Lift/carry/push/pull: Ability up to 5-15 pounds with or without accommodation, occasionally

Responsibilities
  • Receive, review and process invoices following Accounting Department procedures and company policies with promptly addressing discrepancies or issues with vendors·
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers through use of Accounting systems·
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies ·
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and internal departments/stakeholders to resolve invoice/billing issues·
  • Ensure accurate import of store level point of sale (POS) data into MS Excel Spreadsheet·
  • Record miscellaneous office deposits according to internal guidelines and time deadlines·
  • Follow and maintain secure cash handling procedures following internal accounting controls maintaining checks and balances·
  • Coordinate with armored car vendor/service to ensure secure and timely transport of cash bank deposits·
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Accounting Office Manager for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual activities and projects including maintenance of accounting documents and company records·
