Description JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail and task-oriented Accounting Clerk for our Finance department. The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the bank's accounting department. This position involves preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and performing other clerical duties to support financial activities. This position assists the accounts payable and card services department as well. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and other financial records to ensure accuracy. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or errors in accounts. Assist in preparing financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements. Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance purposes. Ensure compliance with bank regulations, policies, and procedures. Support the accounting team with ad-hoc tasks and projects. Maintain organized and up-to-date files of all financial transactions and documents. Serves as backup for the accounts payable function; performs daily accounts payable clearing accounts reconciliation. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: Required Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in accounting or finance from two-year college or university or one to three years’ related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from four-year college or university or three to five years’ related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar role, preferably in banking Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work with multiple departments Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask General hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; longer hours and weekend work expected on occasion; travel and reliable transportation are required.
