Desert Services LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will maintain financial records, ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, and support the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role involves handling various accounting tasks such as data entry, customer billing, reconciling accounts, and assisting with audits.
Key Responsibilities:
· Enter financial transactions into accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop)
· Maintain and update accounting records, spreadsheets, and ledgers
· Ensure all records are accurate and complete
· Enter customer invoices into accounting software
· Assist with AIA billing, including preparation and submission of payment applications and tracking of schedules of values
· Track and follow up on past due accounts
· Process invoices and manage outgoing payments
· Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets regularly
· Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
· Support audits by providing necessary documents and reports
· Answer inquiries related to accounting processes or billing concerns
· Provide general support to the accounting team
· Maintain a secure, organized filing system for accounting records and support
· Ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations and billing procedures
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience executing AIA billing required
· Experience submitting pay apps through GC Pay, ProCore, and Textura required
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good communication and organizational skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Positive attitude and adaptability
· Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
· Knowledge of construction accounting preferred
· Associate’s degree in accounting is preferred
Work Environment:
· Casual office setting
· Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end or year-end closing)
