REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBO or HBO degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems and accounting software; experience with Exact Online is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Basic understanding of Dutch GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in English, with Dutch language skills being a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the processing of day-to-day accounting transactions, including data entry, invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Perform basic reconciliations, such as bank statement and credit card reconciliations.
  • Support monthly closing processes by preparing journal entries and maintaining organized records.
  • Maintain and update financial records in accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure proper documentation of invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries for internal use.
  • Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems for accounting documentation.
  • Provide support during audits by retrieving records and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions within the department.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as processing reimbursements, preparing payment schedules, and tracking petty cash.
  • Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
