ACCOUNTING CLERK

The Accounting Clerk will support the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in a professional legal services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions in compliance with company policies.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, billing, and payment posting.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Prepare routine financial reports and spreadsheets for management.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal staff to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company procedures.
  • Perform other related administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of accounting or bookkeeping experience (legal services or professional services environment a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
