Summary: We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our fast-paced Accounting Department. This position involves heavy daily data entry, with responsibility for processing 300+ vendor invoices per day along with accounts payable and receivable tasks. Accuracy, speed, and organization are critical in this role. The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume environments and maintains professionalism when working with customers, vendors and coworkers. Key Responsibilities: Process high volumes of vendor invoices (manual and EDI) Complete accounts payable check runs Reconcile A/P and A/R with the database and general ledger daily Scan and process accounts receivable payments using a banking scanner Respond to vendor and member inquiries professionally and promptly Apply and reconcile member payments; apply late fees or interest charges as needed Handle billing issues and adjust member due dates when necessary Perform vendor statement reconciliations Support other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent Strong data entry skills and attention to detail Proficiency with standard office software and accounting systems Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a high-volume setting Preferred: Associate’s degree in accounting or related field 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Skills and Competencies: Time management and organizational skills High degree of accuracy and thoroughness Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Computer proficiency and ability to work with accounting tools Additional Information: Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Work Environment: Professional office setting using standard office equipment Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary; regular use of computer and telephone Travel: None required Supervision: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities Pay Range: In New York, the compensation for this position ranges from $24.00-$25.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
