Description

OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various clerical accounting tasks, including data entry, filing invoices, posting journal entries and checking the payroll report. Typically, will handle more routine and repetitive tasks – maintaining records, keeping records of payments, debt collection and organizing financial documents. This will work closely and under the supervision of the Accounting Assistant / Accountant.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Coordinate with Visa Processing team, to ensure timely issuance of quote to prospective clients.
  • Follow up payments from clients on a weekly basis.
  • Process invoices - ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies before sending them to clients/customers.
  • Recording and depositing incoming payments.
  • Assist with accounts receivable tasks – recording accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and issuing reminders.
  • Assisting in debt collection processes.
  • Filing and organizing financial documents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements – preparing documents for audits / financial reviews.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis, assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support the payroll process by accurately entering data and assisting in the preparation of payroll reports – verify employee timesheets and assisting in calculating wages and deductions.
  • Assist with data entry and other administrative tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or any related field.
  • Preferably with 6 – 12 months experience as accounting clerk or similar role but not required.
  • Familiarity with basic accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) functions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software such as MS Excel is required (formulas and data entry).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
