Description Nature of Position: Broad knowledge of General Accounting is needed. Responsibilities may include check preparation, accounts payable, filing and record keeping, credit card entry into the accounting system, bank deposits, audit support and other duties as required. Responsibilities: Prepare day-to-day financial transactions, including check writing, credit card entry, and bank deposits Verify, classify, compute, post, and accurately record accounting data Ensure all supporting documentation and appropriate approvals are present prior to processing transactions Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor communications Research, resolve, and communicate any discrepancies or outstanding balances on accounts Assist with audit support and other accounting duties as required Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Two years office experience preferred Strong computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office programs (Word and Excel) Experience performing mass downloads and data conversion for import into accounting systems from various source systems Experience with accounting platforms is highly desirable o Intacct o PeachTree o Sage 50 o Net Suites Excellent customer service to both internal and external customers Willingness to work cooperatively in a team setting Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness ensuring the highest possible quality Ability to maintain a strong work ethic without direct supervision at all times Effective oral and written communication Ability to make timely, informed decisions that take into account the facts, goals, constraints, and risks related to all aspects of the organization Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
