Description
  The Accounting Clerk ensures up-to-date financial records with timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments for a portfolio of properties and development projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable * Ensuring invoices are reviewed and verified for accuracy and approval before processing for payment; * Ensuring payables and receivables are approved for posting and correctly coded and dated; * Issuing accounts receivable invoices and processing chargebacks; * Promptly depositing cheques, doing bank runs, and booking receipts to ensure ledger is updated in a timely manner; and * Maintaining a simple set of books for some of our entities. Administrative Support * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial transactions and supporting documentation; and * Providing general administrative support to the accounting department, including photocopying, filing, sorting, organizing, and retrieving data and documents as requested by accountants. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Academic, technical, and professional competence * College diploma or certificate in Accounting; and * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. * Experience with Yardi is an asset 2. Work Experience and Job Skills A demonstrated track record with 1 years’ in a related role * Experience in professional office environment; * Experience providing accurate and timely AP/AR functions is an asset; * Diligently dealing with methods of organization and detail in performing their duties; * Efficient and effective time management, demonstrating ability to meet deadlines while producing quality and accurate work; * Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and multi-task priorities; and * Developing strong, positive, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders while practicing excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Experience in property management or development accounting is an asset. 3.
