ACCOUNTING CLERK Job Summary: The successful applicant will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports for the sandals foundation by compiling information, financial statements, and utilising appropriate accounting control procedures. Responsibilities: * Reconciling all inter-company accounts * Preparing and posting journals for bank transactions, inter-company accounts, staff receivables and duties * Performing internal audit reviews as requested by financial controller and documenting findings * Preparing financial reports for funders as needed for reporting and auditing purposes * Assisting the financial controller in developing, implementing, documenting and evaluating procedures, identifying issues and enacting solutions * Adhering to non-profit accounting standards/tax filings * Recommending, developing and maintaining financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems * Analysing revenue and expenditure trends and recommending appropriate budget levels, and ensuring expenditure control Qualifications: * B SC in Accounting or Module (E) ACCA * Computer Literate - solid knowledge of spreadsheet applications * Five (5) CXC/G.C.E.O'LEVELS including mathematics and or accounts, English language and principles of business * Three (3) years' experience in a similar position * General understanding of accounting practices and principles * Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information * Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and cost control principles * Experience with automated accounting systems * Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files * Bookkeeping skills that show high levels of attention to detail Sandals Royal Caribbean (Montego Bay) Known for its exclusive overwater bungalows and private offshore island, Sandals Royal Caribbean provides employees the opportunity to work in a unique, multicultural setting that blends British elegance with Caribbean charm.
