JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and corporate accounting. This role involves managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems like Kronos or UltiPro is a plus.
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately.
  • Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the team and across departments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
  • Assist with payroll management, including data entry and processing payroll through systems such as ADP or Paychex.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Support budgeting processes by providing account analysis and assisting in credit analysis as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and governmental accounting standards where applicable.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain meticulous records for non-profit accounting and provide support during audits as required.
  • Utilize technical accounting skills to analyze financial concepts and assist in financial services operations.
