We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is integral to sustaining the agency’s financial operations and ensuring the smooth execution of critical bond-related billings.
About the Role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a detail-driven environment and appreciates the structure of financial workflows. You will oversee the agency’s day-to-day bookkeeping and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely reconciliation of post-issuance bond receivables and payables with our surety partners.
You’ll work in close partnership with the Finance & Accounting Manager and alongside our processing and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks or similar software
  • Manage accounts receivable: send client invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue balances
  • Manage accounts payable: enter vendor invoices, process payments, and staff reimbursements
  • Facilitate and reconcile bond close-outs with internal teams and surety partners
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports for internal leadership
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting Manager to ensure bond premium adjustments align with surety statements
  • Collaborate with the processing team to finalize and close out bond files for proper billing

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (QuickBooks preferred)
  • Experience in insurance, bonding, or construction a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple moving responsibilities while maintaining a high ability to execute
  • Clear communicator — written and verbal — with internal teams and clients
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and cloud-based systems
  • A proactive, dependable, and self-motivated team player
