JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to manage daily financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, payroll processing, bookkeeping, fuel audits, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll administration.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the transportation/logistics industry is an asset.
  • Familiarity with HST filing and Canadian tax regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounts receivable: monitor outstanding balances, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Handle accounts payable: process vendor bills, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
  • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including data entry, reconciliations, and maintaining financial records.
  • Process and manage payroll for drivers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular fuel audits and reconcile fuel expenses against records.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Assist with quarterly HST filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports as required by management.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
