Description Job Description for: Accounting Clerk Time commitment: Part time, 20-29 hours per week Reports to: Controller Status: Hourly, Non-exempt Compensation: $20.00/hour Looking for a driven self-starter. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of accounting principles and will play a supporting role in the accounting department. This is a growing company with tasks requiring innovation, technical thinking, and flexibility. General Accounting Duties: Accounts Payable and employee reimbursements Insurance Accounting - Receiving, processing, and recording payments from insurance. Regular communication with clients resolving questions and concerns about billing and insurance Work closely with 3rd party insurance billing company Commercial Credit Card accounting Assisting in creating and sending monthly invoices Collaborate on company budgets, oversight, and reporting Student Trust Cash Accounting -Petty cash, Journal Entries, account creation, reconciliation AP/AR adjusting Journal Entries Collaborate in improving, creating, and implementing financial procedures Other department duties as needed Requirements Computer Experience: Basic computer skills and experience with standard business and accounting software Experience with Excel (graphs, pivot tables, lookups, models, reporting) Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Looker Studio, etc) Other Skills / Experience required: Understanding of accounting principles, concepts, strategy, and laws Good verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Must be organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Must be self-motivated and a team player Adaptable Growth mindset/willingness to learn
