This part-time position supports the Administration team by performing a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and customer service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization’s accounting needs. BENEFITS: Free Y membership with discounted family membership Discounted programs, rentals, and retail Child Watch hours available free of charge ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, purchase orders, equipment inventory, and confidential employee or departmental files. Manage childcare billing function; monitor financial status of childcare programs and member accounts. Process periodic childcare billing including posting of payments and credits to member accounts and posting of CCDF grant revenue; assist parents with CCDF accounts. Pursue collection of unpaid childcare bills; contact parents to discuss and remedy. Contact customers to obtain, verify, and update account information when necessary. Maintain administration office supply room inventory including monitoring inventory, ordering additional supplies when needed and processing department supply orders. Support the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist by serving as the back-up. Perform general bookkeeping work, which may include entering data and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents of amounts due for items purchased or services rendered. Copies, collates, and otherwise prepares reports for mailings, meetings, and other correspondence. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s). Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience required. Intermediate user of computers and software programs. Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing. Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
