JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. This role requires accuracy, discretion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (law firm experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Cosmolex is a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Grande attention aux détails et excellentes compétences en organisation
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication et relations interpersonnelles
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs tâches à la fois et à respecter les délais
Responsibilities
  • Daily real estate transaction entries such as cheque preparation, wire transfers, and trust ledger reconciliations
  • Daily postings of all banking transactions such as accounts receivables payments and trust receipts
  • Responsible for the Firms Banking Needs (Deposits of Cheques, Cheque Certifications, etc.)
  • Maintain financial records in an orderly accounting filing system
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closings with an external Bookkeeper
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information
  • Support audits and compliance checks
  • Collaborate with lawyers and administrative staff on financial matters
