POSITION OVERVIEW
As an Accounting Clerk at Volvo Cars Markham, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accuracy across the full accounting cycle. This position is responsible for handling accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, maintaining precise financial records, and contributing to the efficiency and integrity of our accounting processes.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Reconciles and prepares Daily Deposit
· Reconciles Cash/Credit Card Clearing accounts on a daily basis
· Posts Petty Cash expenses
· Posts and Reconciles Company Credit Card charges
· Confirms deliveries and prepares Flooring Payout
· Payout all units based on RBC Payment Terms through RBC Overdrive
· Posts all payments to clear Notes Payable
· Reconciles Monthly Floor Plan Statements
· Assists with Bank Audits
· Posts and reconciles Warranty Credits
· Posts EFT transactions
· Posts Factory Billing invoices/Credits
· Reconciles Monthly Volvo Parts Statements
· Codes all Vendor Invoices
· Confirms expenses with relevant Managers/General Manager
· Posts/accounts for all invoices from Vendors
· Prepares and processes Accounts Payable monthly cheque run
· Scans and files invoices/cheque copies
· Prepares Monthly Accounts Receivable Statements
· Communicates any delinquent accounts to relevant Managers and Controller
· Collects outstanding Receivables
· Reviews Weekly A/R with Controller
· Analyzes the ledger and the relevant accounts recorded. Notes any unusual entries and verifies them.
· Prepares and reviews all related Schedules prior to Month End close
· Assists Controller with the production of the dealership’s annual report and schedules thereto
· Ordering office supplies online
· Cross trains on other Accounting Duties
· Perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of two years of related industry experience.
· Background in the automotive or related industry is an asset.
· College Diploma or University Degree.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
· Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines.
· Proficient with CDK and/or Reynolds systems; ability to operate PC-based software, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
· Strong attention to detail.
